A camera placed in a South African game reserve to photograph the leopard population has snapped just about everything in the area--except leopards.

Wildlife official Diana Wilson told the South African Press Assn. on Friday that she now had a complete inventory of animals in Cederburg Reserve in Cape Province.

“There are pictures of sheep, cattle, buck, stray dogs and even hikers,” she said.

But the only picture of the intended subject was taken after a herd of cattle kicked the camera out of position and it photographed “a bit of a leopard.”

Wilson said the camera had been removed while researchers rethought the project.
