OXNARD : Man, 27, Injured in Drive-By Shooting
A 27-year-old man was shot in the shoulder as he stood in front of his Oxnard house early Monday, police said.
Martin Cardenas was treated and released from Ventura County Medical Center, Oxnard Police Sgt. Jeff Young said.
Cardenas was standing in front of his house in the 200 block of Juanita Avenue about 1:30 a.m. when a car drove past him and an occupant called to Cardenas by name, Young said.
As Cardenas turned, he was struck in the right shoulder by a single bullet, Young said.
Police said they have no information indicating that the shooting was gang-related or that Cardenas belongs to a gang. Police said they also knew nothing about the occupants of the car.
