BASEBALL : DAILY REPORT : ANGELS
Club President Richard Brown reiterated that the Angels are good enough to win the AL West, despite being 10 games behind Minnesota before Monday’s game. “From my perception, we’re missing timely hitting and hitting for power,” he said. Asked whether he had expected Dave Parker to provide that power hitting, Brown said: “I think Dave felt he’d have more power numbers and we felt he would have more power numbers, but there’s still two months left for him to put up his numbers.” Brown also said he’s disappointed in the attendance, which was down more than 125,000 from last season through Sunday. “I know the team is not playing well and that’s part of the reason,” he said. “And the economy is part of the reason.”
