Quarterback Steve DeBerg of the Kansas City Chiefs ended a 20-day holdout and reported to camp with a new two-year contract for an undisclosed salary.

DeBerg, 37, threw 23 touchdowns with only four interceptions last season.The Chiefs went 11-5 and made the playoffs.

Roy Foster, an offensive lineman for the San Francisco 49ers, has agreed to play despite a partial tear in the biceps tendon of his right arm after being told that he would be unable to play this season if he underwent surgery.

“I trust what they’re doing,” Foster said. “I’m just trying to get the strength back into it and get some of the pain out of it before I go at it.”

Gaston Green, UCLA’s all-time rushing leader and No. 1 pick of the Rams in 1988, is averaging 7.3 yards per carry for the Denver Broncos.

Green has carried 16 times for 117 yards, including a 43-yard touchdown run over a wet turf during Friday night’s 10-3 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

Wide receiver Randal Hill, the Miami Dolphins’ first-round draft pick, agreed to a three-year contract estimated at $2.1 million, ending a 26-day holdout.

Tim McKyer, acquired by the Atlanta Falcons in a draft-day trade with the Miami Dolphins, was excited by his first practice session with fellow cornerback Deion Sanders. Sanders joined the Falcons after playing for the Atlanta Braves.

“You got Batman and Robin, Dynamic Duo, Prime Time and Showtime or HBO, whatever you want to call it,” McKyer said.

Jim Campen, who held out the first 11 days of camp after starting at center last season, has suffered a back injury, the Green Bay Packers said. The team said the extent of the injury was not immediately known.

The New York Jets waived free-agent linebacker Dannie Lockett, who had played for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football.
