THOUSAND OAKS : Reward Offered in 7-Eleven Robbery

Share

The Ventura County Crime Stoppers Program is offering up to $1,000 for information that would lead to the arrest and a criminal complaint against an armed robber of a Thousand Oaks convenience store.

A clerk in the 7-Eleven Food Store at Wilbur and Moorpark roads reported to police that a man entered the store about 2:50 a.m. Aug. 1 and became upset because the beer cooler was locked.

The man demanded that the clerk sell him some beer, but the clerk refused, said Kitty Hoberg, the crime stopper coordinator.

The man left the store, only to return a short time later with his T-shirt pulled up over his nose to hide his face. He told the clerk that he had a gun and demanded all the money in the cash register, Hoberg said.

The clerk complied, and the suspect was last seen running west.

The suspect is described as Latino and about 30 years old with black, straight, collar-length hair and a mustache. He is described as having a dark complexion.

The robber was wearing a white T-shirt, blue Levi’s and black shoes. He had two earrings in his right ear and three earrings in his left, Hoberg said.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to call the program at 805-494-TALK or 805-656-1500. The caller may remain anonymous and the call is not recorded.
