CINEMA DOLDRUMS: Maybe folks went to the ballpark instead of the movies. . . . Theater attendance in August has been “quite slow,” says James Edwards of Edwards Theatres, Orange County’s biggest chain. Earlier, however, business was actually up locally over last year, unlike elsewhere, where attendance drooped a bit (F1). Edwards hopes three new films will boost crowds: “Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man,” “Dead Again” and “True Identity.”
