Thieves Get $5,000 From Burbank Bank

Share

Two thieves made off with $5,000 from a Burbank bank after warning a teller not to touch the alarm button, Burbank police reported Friday.

The robbery occurred at 4 p.m. Thursday at Hancock Savings Bank, 1090 N. San Fernando Blvd., said Lt. Al Moody.

Moody said two men wearing sunglasses but otherwise undisguised and possibly unarmed, walked up to a teller as she was typing and demanded the money in hundred-dollar bills. It took the teller a moment to realize what was happening, Moody said, but she caught on when one of the robbers said, “Don’t press the alarm.”
