WARNER CENTER PLAN: Los Angeles city planners will discuss the recently released Specific Plan for Warner Center at a community workshop at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Parkman Junior High School in Woodland Hills.
SCHOOL DAYS: About 180 public schools in the San Fernando Valley will open for the fall term Monday, most of them joining the Los Angeles Unified School District’s year-round schedule for the first time.
NUTRITION CONFERENCE: An estimated 100 dieticians, nurses, physicians, food scientists and other health-care professionals are expected to attend a conference on nutrition and the elderly Monday at Cal State Northridge. The daylong event will be held at CSUN’s new Marilyn Magaram Center for Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics.
