FILLMORE : Man, 21, Stabbed by Gang of Teen-Agers
A 21-year-old Fillmore man was hospitalized Monday night after being jumped by a dozen teen-agers in Shiells Park, beaten with wooden boards and stabbed at least once in the back, authorities said.
Javier M. Magana and a friend were driving near downtown Fillmore about 7 p.m. when someone threw a rock that shattered Magana’s car windshield, said Ventura County Sheriff’s Lt. Gary Markley.
Markley said Magana was jumped as he approached the gang to find out who threw the rock. The victim told deputies that the group beat him with 2-by-4s. One assailant stabbed Magana at least once in the back, possibly causing a collapsed lung, Markley said.
Markley said deputies had taken three suspects, including two juveniles, into custody.
