Workers at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court here were on edge after two .22-caliber bullets were fired through the second-floor window of a judge’s chambers. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Lynne Riddle said she was doing paperwork in her chambers most of the day Sunday but briefly left the courthouse around 12:30 p.m., shortly before an attorney working nearby heard gunfire. The episode follows a wave of vandalism and car burglaries in the parking lot and streets surrounding the courthouse.
