KCET License Upheld: The Federal Communications Commission has upheld a decision by its Mass Media Bureau to unconditionally renew the license of KCET Channel 28 over the objections of the National Hispanic Media Coalition. The coalition had challenged KCET’s equal employment opportunities, but the FCC said the group failed to raise issues sufficient to warrant reversal of the original decision. KCET’s five-year license is renewable in 1993.
