Simi Valley : Car Hits, Kills Area Man in Chatsworth

A Simi Valley man was killed Friday when he crossed a Chatsworth street in mid-block in front of an oncoming car, officials said.

Wiley Bowles, 44, was crossing Topanga Canyon Boulevard just north of Devonshire Street at 8:25 p.m. when he was hit by a car driven by Barbara Gary, 24, of Canyon Country, said Sgt. Joe Cross of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division.

Bowles was pronounced dead at the scene, Cross said.

Gary was not charged in the accident, he said.
