The San Diego State quarterback derby--Cree Morris or David Lowery?--heats up again today when the Aztecs play their final preseason, intrasquad scrimmage. They will start at 3 p.m. on the SDSU practice field.

Morris, who was held out of Monday’s practice with a bruised wrist, returned Tuesday. He said the wrist felt better but was still tender.

Defensive backs Chris Johnson (knee) and Michael Landry (hamstring), defensive end Ty Morrison (groin), receiver Jake Nyberg (hamstring) and linebacker Andy Coviello (knee) will all be held out of today’s scrimmage.

In off-the-field news, the Western Athletic Conference announced that members of the media who cover the conference have predicted Brigham Young will finish first and SDSU second. BYU was picked to finish first on 25 ballots and SDSU was chosen first on three.

Also, Coach Al Luginbill confirmed that defensive back Johnny Walker has been disqualified from school. Walker, who started the first five games a year ago at free safety, was having academic difficulties and has not been in camp this fall.
