Monterey Park : Ride-Share Incentives OKd
Free bicycles, reserved car-pool parking spaces and ride-share newsletters are some of the ways the city will encourage employees to leave the car at home when they go to work.
The City Council on Monday adopted a program to comply with a South Coast Air Quality Management District requirement for employers of 100 people or more.
Monterey Park will spend $30,790 this year on a variety of ride-share activities, including hiring car-pool coordinators, printing newsletters, T-shirts and mugs, and providing guaranteed rides home to employees working overtime or during emergencies. The program is voluntary.
