BASEBALL DAILY REPORT : AROUND BASEBALL : Jackson Up to Old Tricks, Breaks Bat

Bo Jackson, whose left hip injury eight months ago cast his athletic career into doubt, showed in some ways he is apparently back to full strength when he snapped a bat over his knee Wednesday night.

Jackson, playing his third game in as many nights for the double-A Birmingham Barons as part of a minor league rehabilitation program, popped to short leading off the ninth inning against Jacksonville and in frustration snapped the bat over his knee. Jacksonville beat the Barons, 3-0, at Hoover, Ala.
