Senior Editor Buys Atlantic Monthly Press: A senior editor at Atlantic Monthly Press bought the independent book publisher after plans fell apart to sell the house to Boston-based Charles E. Tuttle Co. Morgan Entrekin did not disclose how much he paid for Atlantic Monthly but said the deal was backed by what he called “friends, family and a group of Wall Street investors.” Entrepreneur and journalist Carl Navarre had owned the publisher since 1986, when he bought it from Atlantic magazine owner Mortimer Zuckerman. The talks with Tuttle fell apart over a financial disagreement, according to unidentified executives.
