SEAL ATTACK: There isn’t a shark panic these days off Orange County’s coast. But sightings have increased, according to the state Department of Fish and Game, and Rep. Gil Ferguson (R-Newport Beach) blames the federal government. . . . “The sharks are being attracted because of an increase in their favorite food source--sea lions and seals,” Ferguson says. He has asked Gov. Pete Wilson to petition the federal government to return control to the state so their numbers can be reduced through controlled hunts.
