Aerate, Fertilize for Greener Grass

Share

Lawns can either be the scourge of the neighborhood or the oasis on the block, depending on how we care for them. Some basic care procedures that greatly enhance lawn appearance are aerating and fertilizing.

If you haven’t aerated the lawn yet--punching holes in the ground with a special tool from the garden center--do it now. Aeration allows for deeper penetration of water and fertilizer into the lawn.

Fertilizing should be done monthly. Check with your local nursery for the best recommendation in your area.
