LAKE CASITAS : Toxic Loads Could Be Banned on Road
- Share via
The Casitas Municipal Water District board has asked that California 150, which runs along Lake Casitas, be closed to trucks hauling toxic materials.
Traffic was diverted to the highway recently when the Ventura Freeway was closed by a train derailment between Ventura and Santa Barbara.
Casitas board members, concerned that an accident involving toxic materials could have contaminated the drinking-water reservoir, decided at Wednesday’s board meeting to send a letter to state Sen. Gary K. Hart (D-Santa Barbara) asking him to help keep dangerous traffic off the road.
