Police are looking for a man who robbed two men of about $360 early Friday morning at an automated teller machine.

Police said that Daniel L. Golden of Descanso pulled up to the Union Bank at 580 N. 2nd St. at 6:09 a.m. when he was confronted by a man who entered his car. The man pointed a short, single-barreled gun at Golden and told him to withdraw cash from his account.

The robber then ordered Golden to drive to the parking lot of a nearby store, where the gunman fled on foot.

Golden returned to the bank and encountered an El Cajon man who had recovered his bank card.

While Golden was telling the man what had happened, the two saw the robber in a nearby parking lot leaving the car of John W. Case of El Cajon. Case had been robbed by the man at the Union Bank teller machine, police said.

The man who found Golden’s card told El Cajon police that he saw the robber get into a new, dark-brown Mercedes-Benz. He followed the robber, but lost him as they entered westbound Interstate 8 near Mollison Avenue, police said.
