West Covina : Council May Alter Schedule

City Council meetings may be moved from Monday to Tuesday nights to allow council members more time to review the agendas.
The council on Monday voted 3 to 2 to switch the meetings, now held on the second and fourth Mondays of the month, to the first and third Tuesdays.
The proposed ordinance will be introduced on Sept. 23. If approved, it will become law Nov. 13.
The same ordinance would also change the city Planning Commission’s biweekly meetings from the first and third Wednesdays of the month to the second of fourth Wednesdays to accommodate the council and ease the staff’s workload.
Mayor Richard Jennings and Councilwoman Nancy Manners opposed the proposed changes, saying it is unfair to switch the Planning Commission’s meetings without conferring with its members.
