Share

The Orange County Transportation Corridor Agencies will hold a public meeting Thursday to discuss the impacts of the Foothill Transportation Corridor on the South County, particularly Mission Viejo and San Juan Capistrano.

The meeting, set for 7 p.m. at Capistrano Valley High School, will focus on the three projected segments of the southern portion of the tollway, which is planned to extend from Oso Parkway in Mission Viejo across Ortega Highway to Interstate 5, south of San Clemente.

The TCA staff will be on hand to answer questions from the public. Exhibits showing the three possible alignments of the corridor will be on display.

The TCA board of directors is expected to vote Oct. 10 on the corridor’s environmental-impact report.

Pending approval of the report, construction of the corridor has been tentatively scheduled to begin in 1996 and completed by 2000.

Capistrano Valley High School is at 26301 Via Escolar, Mission Viejo. More information can be obtained by calling the TCA at 557-3298.
