LONG BEACH — McCabe’s Guitar Shop of Long Beach (not to be confused with the more famous Santa Monica McCabe’s) is launching a series of acoustic guitar concerts tonight at 8 with a performance by Laurence Juber, formerly lead guitarist of Paul McCartney’s Wings. Tickets are $8.50.
Owner Kurt Wheaton, who recently took over the shop at 4209 E. Anaheim St., says he hopes to stage monthly concerts in the guitar store, which can seat about 70 people.
Other upcoming concerts include a show on Friday by Christian rock performer Phil Keaggy that is already sold out, two performances by Alex de Grassi on Nov. 8, Preston Reed on Nov. 16, and Doug Smith and Jamie Findlay on Dec. 7. Information: (213) 498-1600.
