Yorba Linda Man Was Crash Victim
A 45-year-old man, killed Friday night when he lost control of his pick-up truck and crashed into a light pole, was identified by authorities Saturday as Michael Collins of Yorba Linda.
Police said Collins was traveling northbound about 8:30 p.m. on Tustin Avenue, near the Riverdale Avenue intersection, when his vehicle struck the raised island and careened across the intersection into the pole on the northeast corner. Police said the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Collins, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was found inside the cab of his 1989 Toyota, which was wrapped around the base of the pole.
