Molina Calls for Study of County-Paid Retreats

Share

Los Angeles County Supervisor Gloria Molina called for a study of county expenditures on retreats for its employees, saying she fears that too much money was being spent without board approval.

Molina also asked that the county Productivity Commission review the county’s retreat policies.

The requests followed disclosures that managers had spent $64,000 on a retreat to Palm Springs for employees of the emergency preparedness division of the County Administrative Office. Seventeen middle-level managers also attended a retreat at the Newport Sheraton in Orange County earlier this month.
