PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Grass Might Not Be Greener for Saints
Last week, Coach John Robinson predicted that the New Orleans Saints would eventually come back to the pack in the NFC West. The Saints are 4-0 now and he is having second thoughts.
“Kansas City goes a half (against the Saints) without a first down,” he said. “We go a half without a first down. Minnesota goes from the red-hot Vikings to a can’t-get-a-first-down group. I’m a little startled by that.”
All four of the Saints’ games have been played on artificial turf.
“They’re a big-time, quick AstroTurf defensive team,” he said. “When they go to Atlanta, which is a slow, cow-pasture kind of field, it will get a little tougher for them in that kind of environment.”
The Rams added running back Marcus Dupree to their practice squad Tuesday and opened a spot on the roster by putting cornerback Rodney Thomas on injured reserve because of a strained knee. Dupree, who is recovering from a toe injury, will remain on injured reserve but will be able to practice.
