County Supervisor Susan K. Lacey has been named to one of 12 committees that make policies for the nationwide organization of counties.

Lacey, who represents the Ventura-based 1st Supervisorial District, was named recently to the Human Services and Education Steering Committee of the National Assn. of Counties.

The committee will be composed of about 50 county officials who will meet during the next year to discuss issues important to county governments.

Lacey, a three-term supervisor and former school board member, has been involved in a number of programs that benefit children.

The steering committee on which she will serve recommends policy that, if adopted at an annual convention, will be the basis for the counties’ lobbying of Congress and the White House.
