This veteran Nashville studio singer’s debut album leads off with the catchy hit single, “She’s in Love With the Boy,” a tale spun with earthy, almost Springsteenian detail and charm. Despite her assured vocals, though, the rest of the material can’t keep up, not even her duet with pal Garth Brooks.
