Chula Vista
A 69-year-old man who was recently released from the mental health division of Paradise Valley Hospital is missing.
William McCurley was last seen getting into a cab at his Chula Vista home between 2:30 and 3 p.m. Thursday, said Chula Vista Police Officer John Heggestuen. The cab driver dropped him off in the 200 block of Landis Street in Chula Vista, and McCurley has not been seen since.
He recently suffered memory loss and confusion, Heggestuen said.
McCurley, who talks with a Texas accent, is 5 feet, 10 inches tall with gray hair and glasses. He was wearing a gray jumpsuit, gray tennis shoes and a straw hat when he disappeared.
Dorothy McCurley believes her husband may have been going to Texas, where he has family, Heggestuen said. She has contacted relatives in Texas and Wisconsin, but no one has heard from him.
McCurley retired two years ago from Rohr Industries, where he worked for 45 years as a machinist.
