PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Craig Glad to Get Relief
No one was more relieved to see the Raider debut of rookie Nick Bell at tailback than tailback Roger Craig, who has been carrying too much of the rushing load.
Bell, who had been sidelined since early August because of a pulled hamstring, relieved a battered Craig on Sunday and rushed for 31 yards in seven carries. Bell also had three catches for 23 yards, despite only three days of practice since coming off of injured reserve.
Craig played Sunday despite a badly bruised left shoulder, which was still wrapped in ice when he reported for Monday’s team meeting.
