IBM, Apple to Disclose Agreement Details: International Business Machines Corp. and Apple Computer Inc. scheduled a press conference in San Francisco today to disclose the details of their joint effort to link computers, create new software and advance computer chip technology. In July, the companies announced a broad-based agreement to develop advanced software, powerful PCs and a common approach to graphics and sound displays. The moves emphasized how difficult it is, even for industry giants, to stay ahead of the pack, analysts said.
