Arcadia : School Hearings Scheduled
A fourth public hearing has been scheduled for Oct. 21 on a controversial proposal for restructuring Arcadia schools.
The two remaining hearings, like the two already held, will focus on school task force recommendations for the 8,037-student district.
But Joann Steinmeier, president of the Arcadia Board of Education, said the board will consider the issue of year-round schools separately from recommendations on restructuring schools and selling and leasing school property.
Steinmeier said the board will tour all facilities that could be affected in the proposal during an 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. meeting Oct. 10.
The third public hearing will be Wednesday at Holly Avenue Elementary School, 360 W. Duarte Road. The Oct. 21 hearing will be at First Avenue Junior High School, 301 S. 1st Ave. Both will run from 7 to 9 p.m.
