Clarification of Guild’s Position on Contract
The following quote was attributed to me: “We’re willing to accept no raise, but we are unwilling to take a cut in health care commitments” (Times, Sept. 19).
This is inaccurate. We will accept the cut in health care commitments only if the district is willing to make some commitment to salary increases for the faculty in years two and three of our three-year contract.
It is untrue that dwindling state funds have already forced an agreement on a salary freeze.
