Motorcycle Crash Kills Marine, Passenger Hurt

A 22-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine corporal died and one of two passengers on his motorcycle was critically injured when the cycle collided with a moving van.
Jeffrey Whitehouse was reported driving fast when his motorcycle collided with a moving van on Freeman Street in Oceanside Tuesday. The van was double-parked at the time, according to Robert Engel, an investigator for the medical examiner’s office. Whitehouse died at the scene.
Passenger Christopher Polk, 21, was taken by Life Flight to Scripps Memorial Hospital, where he was in critical condition late Wednesday with head injuries. Passenger James Biletnikoff, 25, of Vista, was not injured.
