Arleigh T. Williams; Administrator at UC Berkeley

Arleigh T. Williams, 78, whose two decades as an administrator at UC Berkeley spanned the student protests of the 1960s. Williams was assistant vice chancellor of student affairs from 1970 until his retirement in 1976. He previously was dean of men and dean of students at the university. During the protest era, Williams acted as a liaison between students and administrators. In recognition for his role during those years, he was named Dean of Students Emeritus by the regents of the University of California upon his retirement.
