PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Faryniarz Won’t Go on Injured Reserve

The Rams have decided not to put linebacker Brett Faryniarz on the injured-reserve list. They now believe his strained left knee will sideline him for only about two weeks instead of four.

After this weekend’s bye, the team is expected to activate defensive end Bill Hawkins, who has been on injured reserve since Week 3 because of sore ribs.

Jeff Fisher, Ram defensive coordinator, said he doesn’t expect Kevin Greene to be switched back to linebacker from right defensive end.

“The sacks will come,” Fisher said. “If he only gets two or three sacks the rest of the year and plays the way he’s been playing against the run, he’ll still be productive for us.” Greene has one sack.
