CAMPAIGN CORONA: Retired Anaheim police captain Bill Franklin, now serving on the Corona City Council, is scheduled to announce today that he will seek the U.S. Senate seat that will be vacated by outgoing Democrat Alan Cranston. Franklin would enter the GOP primary in June against TV commentator Bruce Herschensohn, Rep. Tom Campbell (R-San Jose) and Palm Springs Mayor Sonny Bono.
