Nordstrom Predicts Level Earnings: Seattle-based Nordstrom said it expects that earnings for the third quarter will approximate last year’s third-quarter earnings. It said sales at stores open longer than one year have decreased from 1990 levels for the first two months of the quarter and that sales for the first part of October indicate that this trend is continuing.
