Indianapolis was selected Tuesday as the permanent sorting center for U.S. Postal Service express mail. This means the city will keep the jobs of 550 people who handle express mail sorting here for Emery Worldwide on a contract basis for the Postal Service. As many as 250 additional workers will be hired as the operation becomes a permanent hub, a spokesman said.
