Two Locals Advance in Wheelchair Tennis
Dan Lachman of Corona del Mar and Brad Parks of San Clemente advanced to the third round of the men’s open division at the U.S. Open Wheelchair Tennis Championships Tuesday at Racquet Club of Irvine.
Lachman, seeded No. 7, defeated Germany’s Stefan Bitterauf, 6-4, 1-6, 6-3. Parks (No. 9) defeated Switzerland’s Bernard Goldblatt, 6-2, 6-0.
The top nine seeded players in the men’s open division advanced to the round of 16.
Third-round play in the men’s open division begins at 11:30 a.m. today with the second round of the women’s open division beginning at 12:30 p.m.
