A Philadelphia police investigation determined that there is no foundation for allegations of rape against pitcher David Cone of the New York Mets, and charges won’t be filed, Sgt. Theresa Young said.

A 24-year-old New Jersey woman claims that Cone raped her after she gave him a massage in his Philadelphia hotel room last Saturday night.

Philadelphia police, who never called the allegation rape, and the district attorney’s office decided to make no arrests after reviewing documents provided by the hotel and interviewing witnesses.
