Left wing Pat Verbeek, who led the Hartford Whalers with 43 goals last season, announced he was ending his four-week holdout and would rejoin the team in Montreal.
The Whalers also signed free-agent center John Cullen to a four-year contract.
Verbeek said he would play against the Canadiens on Monday night.
He is seeking a $1.15 million-a-year contract. The Whalers are offering $700,000.
