Academy Plans 3-Day Salute to Swiss Films

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Academy Foundation, in association with the Consulate General of Switzerland, will present a three-day salute to the films and filmmakers of Switzerland in observance of the nation’s 700th anniversary.

The Swiss Cinema Salute will be Tuesday through Thursday at the academy, 8949 Wilshire Blvd. The opening event, at 8 p.m. Tuesday, will commence with a panel discussion moderated by Charles Champlin, former arts editor and critic at large for The Times.

The discussion will be followed by the screening of the 1984 winner of the best foreign-language film Oscar, “Dangerous Moves,” written and directed by Richard Dembo and starring Michel Piccoli, Liv Ullmann and Leslie Caron.
