Alhambra : Snake Victim Not Charged
A 27-year-old Alhambra man bitten by a pet rattlesnake was given a warning for illegally taking it from the wild but will not be charged.
Dale Goode was bitten on the tip of his right index finger Tuesday while cleaning the terrarium of the 2-foot-long snake, which he had named Junior.
Goode and the snake were taken to Alhambra Community Hospital. Goode was later transferred to County-USC and released after his condition stabilized.
The snake, confiscated by the county Department of Animal Care and Control, will be turned over to the Los Angeles Zoo, said Les Mitchell, a regional administrator with the department.
Mitchell said he saw no reason to cite Goode. “He’s been punished enough,” Mitchell said.
