Senate OKs Funds for 6.7 Miles of Metro Rail
The U.S. Senate approved a transportation funding bill Wednesday that contains a $125-million allocation to help complete construction in Los Angeles of eight Metro Rail subway stations and 6.7 miles of track.
The money is contained in the 1992 Department of Transportation bill, which already had been approved by the House, and now awaits action by President Bush, who is expected to sign it.
