NICE COOKING: The 28,000 students of the Garden Grove Unified School District get lower-fat french fries, salad bars and other healthy cafeteria choices, and now the district has won the highest U.S. award for exemplary school lunch programs. The Department of Agriculture cited its marketing and innovative approaches. . . . “You just don’t slop food on a tray,” said district food boss Sue McCann. “You have to make something edible that kids will eat by choice.”
