Crenshaw : Agency to Study Plaza Idea

Share

The Community Redevelopment Agency will meet today to discuss whether Santa Barbara Plaza shopping center and a nearby commercial strip should be redeveloped as part of the Crenshaw Redevelopment Project, the project that includes the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza regional mall. The recommendation is included in an $80,000 feasibility study that the agency will consider. It will forward its findings to the City Council for final approval.

But agency officials say it is likely to be two years or more before any redevelopment work actually takes place, because of regulations requiring the participation of an advisory board and the need for boundary surveys and further studies.
