KCBS-TV Channel 2 anchors Bree Walker and Jim Lampley filed a complaint with the Federal Communications Commissions on Thursday against radio station KFI-AM(640) and its parent company, Cox Broadcasting Corp.

On July 22, KFI talk-show host Jane Norris asked listeners to call in with comments on whether Walker, then pregnant, should conceive a child, given that the child faced a 50-50 chance of inheriting her ectrodactylism, a rare genetic condition that results in fused fingers and toes.

The FCC complaint alleges that the KFI broadcast personally attacked Walker and all disabled people and that the station failed to operate in the public interest by airing factual inaccuracies.

“I think that the station was responsible in its programming,” KFI General Manager Howard Neal responded Thursday. “We even went as far as to offer Bree Walker, or her representatives, an opportunity to come to the station and discuss the inconsistencies she claimed were aired. To this date we have not received any response from Bree Walker.”
