Carpinteria 27, Nordhoff 22--Carpinteria (5-1) survived six first-half turnovers and overcame a 16-0 first-quarter deficit at Nordhoff. Nordhoff (3-3) opened the scoring with a 57-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Steve Saum to tailback Nacho Vega. The Rangers capitalized on two fumble recoveries inside Carpinteria’s 20-yard line, scoring on Aaron Fabbian’s 38-yard field and Saum’s two-yard run.
