HUNGER WALK: The fifth annual Mid-San Gabriel Valley Hunger Walk; 10K walk; La Puente Park near Temple and Glendora avenues, La Puente; 1 p.m. today (free, but participants are urged to arrange for sponsor donations).

MT. WILSON TOUR: Free one-hour guided walking tours of the Mt. Wilson Observatory grounds will be offered through the month of October every Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

GRAND OPENING: Bob Lucas Library and Literacy Center, 2659 N. Lincoln Ave., Altadena; 5 to 7:30 p.m. Monday (free).

CASINO VOTE: South Gate voters will go to the polls Tuesday to decide whether the City Council should authorize the construction of a card casino as part of a $60-million hotel/entertainment complex. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
